Open Source, mobile client, extensible, rapid development, that's Logseq. But can it stand up to the demands of my field test and how does it compare to Roam Research?
I did recently import 13K pages graph in Logsec on M1 Mac. It did take much time ( may be because of many linked refrences). Thought, it was bit slow, but imported all pages.
I find the UI very sluggish and not snappy at all, both at work and on my high-performance machine. That said, I'm now addicted to Logseq and don't want to move away. Maybe if they move from Electron to something like Tauri, it could help.
Interestingly I tested the same graph on my Base M1 Macbook air(less powerful than your computer). The 10k files one and i got substantially better results. Took 22 seconds to open.(with apps in background) All Pages view shows 20k pages and the import occured first try. I simply opened the markdown directory i downloaded from your github, left it there while moniotring progress on the console. It did freeze for the first few minutes and then started up after. I just hopped on a zoom call and by the time i was done it had processed.
I've re-checked with the 10,000 directory freshly downloaded from GitHub and got the same result as before. White App, not finishing the import. I've uploaded another video: https://youtu.be/dD6rJH1oLhk
